Library card allows you to borrow books, allows access to online journals, digital media, search hundreds of electronic databases, reserve a computer/meeting room, and much more. Getting a library card is often very easy and is often provided free of charge to any residents in a given state.
One can apply for a card online and activate the library card in person at the local library or in some cases, get their card mailed to their address. A current, valid ID (e.g: State ID, Driver's license) with name, photo and address is required to apply.
